Welcome to Class 2's Blog

Hello Class Two, We hope that you have had a lovely break at home with your families in the sunshine.  What did you get up to during half term?  We would love to see some photos. This term you will notice that the activities posted on the class blogs will be a bit different from what you have been used to. For example, they may not always include an English and Maths lesson. This is for several reasons, i) there will be a focus on Well Being (in and out of school) as we move through the Covid-19 journey; ii) normally during the summer term we have a range of curriculum focus weeks; iii) to ensure consistency for groups both in school and staying at home. This approach will enable teaching staff to manage providing the planning for both groups in a workable manner. This week, the school will focus on Well Being in our school community and reflecting on the changes we have all had to make over the last two months. Dear Class 2,  You have all worked so hard this half term since Easter and we are so impressed with everything you have achieved.  So it is time for a well deserved rest for everyone over half term.  We are not setting any work, but here are some Half Term Outdoor Fun ideas to try if you would like to!  Half Term Fun Also, the PTA has a challenge for you that you might like to try over half term! PTA Logo Challenge! The PTA have challenged the pupils of Holy Apostles’ School to design a PTA logo.  The winning design or combination of designs will be made into a logo that will be used on our letterhead and social media pages.  The winner(s) will also receive a prize in the form of a £10 voucher of their choice. The logo should ideally • Include the words Holy Apostles’ Primary  School PTA • Not be too intricate • Be colourful Please take a good quality photo of your design and send it to   pta@holyapostles.gloucs.sch.uk . Hi Class 2, We hope that you have been out enjoying the lovely sunshine again 🌞😊. Here is your work for  Wednesday . Today is the day to start getting your ideas together for your own Mr Men or Little Miss story.  You all have wonderful imaginations so we hope to hear some great story ideas. In Maths today we are recapping the two times table, have a go at playing the doubles game as an extra challenge afterwards. If you would like an extra story today, here is  On A Tall Tall Cliff . As ever, it is fantastic to see your smiling faces Class 2.  There are lots of exciting activities taking place this week. Here is Oliver and Arabella doing some yummy baking.  They weighed out the ingredients and cracked the eggs.  Their cupcakes look delicious, save one for us! Oliver also enjoyed a very long hike with his family, look at that fantastic view. Tristan enjoyed exploring the National Geographic Kids Website.  Here is a picture he painted of some of the animals he learnt about.  Can you see which animals in their habitats he has drawn? Tristan also wrote some great sentences all about Mr Nonsense.  Who is your favourite Mr Men or Little Miss character? Freddie has also been working hard in all subjects this week.  Look at all the Mr Men he can name, and he had some ideas of his own! Hello Class 2, We hope you have all been enjoying our Mr. Men and Little Miss topic and are ready to become writers yourselves this week.  We are confident that you will have been able to complete the maths work from White Rose easily and hope that lots of you will be having a go at some challenge questions this week.  Please let us know how you are getting on.  What did you learn about dragonflies?  Did you have a go at some mindfulness colouring? Here are some more examples of all the hard work that has been going on in Class 2 this week at home! Oscar joined in with his brother George's art activity in Red class creating artwork in the style of Kandinsky. Super use of shape and colour, Oscar, well done! Sam has also been busy this week. Here is some of the Science work he has completed on Minibeasts. Well done, Sam! Florence has been busy again too this week. Here she is retelling the story of Little Miss Magic.   She has also been working really hard on her maths, well done, Florence! Keep up the great work everyone!
